What is a brand? It’s your presence when you are not present.
It’s also the emotions you inspire in people when they encounter you or your work/calling/brand.
So how do you make them feel? Have you ever asked a trusted friend or colleague, “what’s it like to work with me?” “If you had to describe my work style in three words, what would you say?”
This, in essence, is indicative of your brand.
Most of us are at a loss for how to describe the brand we have. Most likely, we’re also at a loss to describe the brand we want to become.
Getting guidance on these ideas is a good way to begin. The next step is deep reflection into your own heart.
That’s what most of our Root + River clients say are their biggest struggles as brands — articulating what they stand for. And that’s where we can help.
We’ve spent the last year developing an 8-week e-course for individuals, solo-preneurs or those seeking to pursue their passion project. The course, called Becoming a Brand, helps you learn how to understand branding in the 21st century.
It also teaches you how to talk about your brand in a way that attracts relationships, conversations and brand-building experiences.
We’re offering a $100 off with the code BRAND LAB if you register before the course launches on Feb. 15. The next course will not start until late April. Join us!
It’s a great value for you and will be time well-spent because when it is over, you’ll know how to talk about your brand forever.
Emily Soccorsy + Justin Foster are cofounders of the intrinsic branding practice known as Root + River. Together with their defiantly different clients, they uncover then articulate the foundational elements of the brand. Then, they provide brand strategy and brand coaching as the brand is rolled out internally and externally. Obsessive about language and differentiation, Emily + Justin are also authors and speakers.
